How does someone who recently launched a startup go from only having a few customers here and there to getting enough to help sustain and grow the business overall? I am trying to set up a marketing plan that requires little or no money as a means to not only help myself but help others.
Become a master of social media. You want to make sure you have a Facebook business page as well as other social accounts such as Instagram for showing off your products and Twitter for engaging with possible customers. You can learn the basics of this stuff in as little as a few days.
You are going to have to get it out there. Advertise it yourself and buy adverts for it on social media sites. When working with a small budget, you have to start small which means doing the bulk of the work yourself. This will require several hours a day and often will become a full-time job in and of itself. Just be sure the manage your time wisely!
Is you idea a smaller one?
If you have a business idea that doesn't require a lot of investing to get going, then the budget won't matter too much. But if you have bigger plans, it might be worth scaling back if you don't know where the money will come from to fund it.
If you have no money to start and the idea requires it, it is best to find someone who will invest or your have the option to take out a small business loan. You will need to convince the banker that it is worth their time though.
