How to get investors to invest in your startup?

I want to get people to invest in my startup. I have the plans all mapped out, my projections, and my possible earnings forecasting for the next 2 years. How do I get investors to invest in my startup?

You have to put in the work and get your name and ideas out there. There are several ways to do this but I find the best way is to use a site or campaign run site of your own to showcase everything.

You can start a social account or page for it on Twitter, Facebook, and depending on the niche maybe even Instagram. The more people you get sharing your project, the more likely investors will take notice.

You have to put yourself out there. You can do this easily online but if you can afford it, I would travel to venues that host startup competitions.

Usually I would suggest going to conventions and such but those won't be back for some time.

Yeah conventions and meetings for the time being are all being held virtually and you have be put on a waiting list for something like this. I am not sure if they would be accepting anyone else right now either. People are desperate for money.

@emily.schaefer The virtual ones are few and far between. It is very hard to get a bunch of people on something like that when it comes to investor conventions. There is little to no room to converse outside of you giving your presentation and that is it.

You have to pitch your ideas and values to as many people as you can. You want to make sure before you do this that everything is trademarked and you are protected from people who might have more time or more money to take your idea and run with it.

^ That is a good point. Before you start blabbing your ideas to the world, make sure your ideas are fully protected from someone else taking them from under your nose! I have seen that happen a lot.
